The shipping industry demands treatment systems designed to meet the extreme conditions at sea, to maritime logistics and to the dynamics of advances in shipbuilding techniques. Up-to-date concepts must also take into account the increasingly stringent regulations with regard to the safety and for the protection of people and the environment.

GEA Westfalia Separator Systems Gmbh meets these demands with complete systems for the treatment of:

As a system partner for Marine, GEA Westfalia Separator Systems Gmbh offer environmentally compatible systems for processing fuel oil and lube oil, supplying fresh water, and cooling the machines.

Viscosity Booster units from GEA Westfalia Separator Systems Gmbh adjust the viscosity, temperature and pressure of the heavy fuel oil to the optimum requirements of the engine manufacturers process for the engines.

GEA Westfalia Separator Systems Gmbh Salt Water Distillers desalinate the seawater to produce drinking water thus avoiding bulky tanks for fresh water supplies.

GEA Westfalia Separator Systems Gmbh P late Heat Exchangers are responsible for regulating the operating temperature of the engine's cooling water and lubricating oils.

The systems are designed for unsupervised continuous operation and comply with all the relevant regulations required by classification organisations. The new generation of “self-thinking” separators of the EAGLECALASS, employing the patented GEA Westfalia Separator Systems Gmbh UNITROLPLUS® system, ensures optimal separation efficiency for oils of all types under extreme conditions.

Sea Protect Solutions stands for a new generation of separators now available for treating fuel and lube oils, bilge water and oil-containing sludges. They are reliable and fulfill the stringent demands of the IMO as stipulated in the MEPC 107 (49) standard.

Oil content of less than 15 ppm have already been achieved in bilge water processing with the standard version, but auxiliary equipment reduces this value to below 5 ppm. In this way, pure water can be discharged into the sea.
With Sea Protect Solutions, the ships are equipped to sail through even the most sensitive maritime areas.

SeaProtect Solutions stand for:

•  Optimum performance with minimum costs

•  Compliance with all statutory regulations of IMO ans USCG

•  High operating reliability

•  Reduction of interfaces

•  Optimising planning certainty

•  Harmonisation of maintenance intervals

•  Minimum space requirement

•  Reduced weight

•  Award winnig technology

All systems are available as individual components. However, it is recommended that complete system solutions be used in order to reduce planning costs and interfaces. The treatment systems are supplied in modular form. Complete turnkey systems are available as compact units, supplemented by additional primary components.

A further alternative is the concept known as CENTRIPACK: All required separators are grouped together to form a single entity, all piping is installed and all control modules are pre-assembled before the CENTRIPACK is delivered to the shipyard, and simply installed.
